McDonald played U.S. prosecutor Liz Lawrence in the first episode of her role was seen in the CBS drama The Good Wife legal drama in the year 2009. As a result of the role she played, McDonald received three Critics Choice Award nominated. The actress is currently a guest in Julian Fellowes's historic film The Gilded Age.
