Kristen Anne Bell was born in 1980 and is a singer/actress from the USA. Her birthplace and childhood was in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) who is Nurse, and Tom Bell, a television news director. She is from Polish origin (mother), and German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen discovered her talents within the industry of entertainment in her early years. In 1992, she appeared at her first audition and won an appearance in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mother signed her up with an agency before her 13th birthday. She later appeared on television commercials and newspaper ads. Bell also began taking private acting classes around this time. Bell played an uncredited part in Polish Wedding (1998), the film that was released in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School where she took part in musical and drama clubs. Bell was chosen to play the lead role of Dorothy in her high school's performance of The Wizard of Oz. Bell went on to study musical theatre at the world-renowned Tisch School of the Arts in New York City after graduating. Bell, who graduated in 2001, decided to leave her studies at the university to play the role Becky as Becky in Tom Sawyer. It was also in 2001 that Bell made her first appearance in a movie that had been credited, Pootie Tang (2002). However, her part is cut off and the credits are all that show her. The year 2002 saw her first major role. Bell made an appearance in the Broadway version of The Crucible with Liam Neeson and Angela Bettis.
